In Conversation

I am honored by all that I've learned through conversation with remarkable people over the years. Here, I've posted some of my most memorable conversations with thought leaders who continue to shape my thinking.

On Being

At On Being, Krista Tippett often described our work as guided by three animating questions: What does it mean to be human? How do we want to live? And who will we be to each other? I took a particular interest in that third question, and my conversations with Krista Tippett, Lyndsey Stonebridge, Rami Nashashibi, and Gwendolyn Zoharah Simmons offer reflections on all three of these questions — with particular lessons on how we live together.

Joy Summit

In my conversations with Adrienne Maree Brown and Ross Gay, I learned a lot about the importance of joy in our struggle for a better world. I hope we reflected back the wisdom of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu in our conversations for the Joy Summit.

Begin Again

This year, 2026, the National Council of Elders launched their "Begin Again" series, inspired by Dr. Eddie Glaude Jr.'s reflections on James Baldwin. I am honored to serve as co-host for this series of conversations with various thinkers reflecting on the work we have to do. The series is ongoing — sign up for the webinar for the full content. After the webinars, you can find the conversations with Dr. Eddie Glaude Jr., Prof. Loretta Ross, and other conversations that I co-hosted for this series here.
